there is one scene of the 2009 version of Friday the 13th that i don’t understand. At the end when the guy and his kidnapped sister are running away from Jason in the tunnle and then they go through that opening and they end up in the flipped over bus. How did they get from underground in the tunnle to the flipped bus? It’s like they just magically jumped from underground to the bus?

How do I help my nieces with how they are dealing with their parents split?
Six months ago my sister left the father of her 3 girls and at first they liked having a new house and the eldest having her own room. Before they split my sister and her ex sat them down and said they loved them all still and would always see their dad, which they do all the time and he has them at least 3 days a week. I voiced my concern with how the my middle niece, who is 10, looked worried about the move and she is the most sensitive of the 3. Now my sister seems to go out more, the father sees them more, she is a good mum and loves them and she has a full-time job, but only 3 months after the split she got a new boyfriend. He is more what my sister wanted, educated, sociable, athletic and has a good job. In my opinion she has moved quite fast and he has met my 3 nieces, who are 11, 10 and 8, but a dinner didn’t go well and he cooked it at their house and they were rude to him. I can understand this, because it was only 5 months since my soster left her ex. He was rude, sexist, wasn’t doing the house which needed more rooms adding as the girls shared one room and he was very selfish drinking and not doing any chores at all. He has his own business in the building industry and has a small team and my sister still does the quites on the computer for him. She has told our mum the girls have written a letter the other day how they want their mum and dad to get back together, to live in their old house with their beloved dogs and in their old house. I did think the girls were covering up how upset the split made them and when I voiced it all my sister said was they’d have to get used to it, because life was full of changes. She seems uncaring and by nature she is selfish, but this seemed awful to say and now woth her new boyfriend, who has a psychology degree, he said about the girls behaviour and she listens to him, but not when we, who know the girls, voiced our concerns. The downside is I don’t see them as much sometimes for over a month when I did a lot moire before, but now they are back and forth between 2 houses so it is harder to see them, but any advice on how I can be helpful to them please? My sister does care for her girls and they have lots of friends, play musical instruments, go swimming and are on teams, but the split seems to have made her more selfish and to her advantage by her being able to go out more.

i think you should take them to do fun things, talk to them, and well actually… just listen to them and get to know them and how they feel in detail.
they probably feel like they lost someone to talk and be close with because there dad is obviously an a**h*** and the mom is obviously to lost in her own world!
i think it was wrong to have them meet the boyfriend so soon, but she already did it and has to deal with the consequences of the action.

So really… they just need someone there for them more! To listen!!!!!!

You know i’m really sad to see that your family is going through a situation like this. I know all too well what division in a family unit can do to a person’s life, especially when there are little children involved. I don’t claim expertise but here’s how i feel:

With children, it seems pretty often during a divorce/split that they always blame themselves. So first i would make sure they understood that there’s nothing that they did to cause this to happen. Also i would try to just be a stabilizing force in their lives by calling them every chance i got, reminding them how beautiful they are and how much joy they bring to me.
Something else you might want to consider is just simply talking to your sister with the kids (if she’s up to it) just so everyone can get everything out in the open. It’s not uncommon for a person going through a seperation to become selfish; if they felt that their needs (emotional or even physical) were being met in the first place, they probably wouldn’t have left their previous relationship. It might help for her to see the pain in her daughters eyes and maybe she’ll realize that now isn’t the most opportune time to pursue other relationships over the maintainance of her daughters mental and emotional health. Something else- I would encourage the girls’ relationship with their father. Unless of course an unhealthy experience is the only result that could come of it seeing as i don’t know what kind of man he is. But i say this because how they relate to him, and vice versa, will be a big deciding factor in how they see themselves and how they choose their relationships in the future.
But overall, when there isn’t much left to your control, just give 100% where you do have control. i.e. calling the girls, dropping by when you can, even if for only 15 mins, reminding them how much they are loved, helping them to stay positive but also helping them see the reality of the situation. I mean, don’t make any promises you can’t keep ya kno-"you’re parents will get back together one day", things like that.

So..i’ve got more on my heart that i feel could help. But i don’t want to bore you.
I really hope things work out for you and your family. I see how much you love these girls.

Why do I feel so much contempt for the world?
You know what I think? I think that entirely too much unnatural stress is placed on education. Have people forgotten that life is full of things that throw off and change a mans thinking? Though we are punished and disciplined. Ultimately it’s paradoxical. We are taught, to learn, to either fulfill a passion or stabilize our lives. What happens when you come to the sudden realization one day in your high school or college that these discussions, lectures, assignments and test/exams are the hands that disfigure your thinking and close in on the inner will and desires of your true being? Why do I feel the need to retaliate against this? You begin to question, what am I supposed to do, where am I supposed to turn to? There are those who spend their lives in this tornado of fact spinning and brain bending and these people, do they not see the obvious, have they forgotten that people are turning into money hungry machines with fake perceptions of life, these people control the future because they shape minds, something I think should happen naturally. When your gut is telling you to go against the grains of all this chaos, search for the truth, and make an impact, are you really going to be content with who you are? When you think you’ve gotten things figured out, a real grip on it, and someone comes along and greases your grasp, are you going to want to let go? Can it be right to favor the favored and pity the pitiful people, a reality you’ve witnessed without pause or reconsideration. What would you know, what would you want to know, and more importantly, what would you do if things were different. Why is it that the generations are repeating themselves, in hope, in stride, and producing the equivalent? Why do I feel so much contempt for people, I feel like the only true control is chaos, be it peaceful or just plain hard, and to top it all off I’m just like you, a normal person trying to make a way so I don’t rot and waste.
Small question-based on my discontented feelings and controlling/forceful nature, what would you suggest I look into as a profession? I’m currently getting my AA.

A and B are points (1,p) and (2,4) respectively on the curve with equation y = x^3 - 4. The gradient of the line AB is:

It’s a non-calculator question in my homework and my mind has gone blank, plus I can’t find the relevant section in my notes :/ I thought you differentiated, but that never worked, and I tried just doing m = (y2-y1)/(x2-x1) to find the gradient but then remembered I still had p as a point :L :/

YOU need to figure out what YOU want to do in life then YOU need to do research on both branches so YOU can decide which one offers an MOS that involves doing what YOU like to do.

Wow that is like deciding if you are going to buy a bike or a car.

Two vastly different branches.

You have to decide for yourself, sit down and make a pros and cons list for both. With that being said I will tell you this, joining the Airforce is a choice, Joining the Marine Corps is a lifestyle.

You can have both by joining the Marine Corps air wing. You can get much of the infantry training an infantry marine receives and a technical school. In the Marine Air Wing, it is possible to engage in combat if you work on helicopters or the V-22. They have crewmembers who man machine guns. Obviously, you wouldn’t get in combat working on fighter aircraft.
