Just wondering if there are any great books you could recommend to me? I read regularly and my taste in books is quite diverse, as seen by some of my favourites listed below!

The count of monte cristo, alexandre dumas
The great gatsby, f. scott fitzgerald
In cold blood, truman capote
Catch 22, joseph heller
The three musketeers, Dumas
The bonfire of the vanities, tom wolfe
The remains of the day, kazuo ishiguro

Thanks!

Pride and Prejudice:
This is the nearest and dearest to me. I love this book with all my heart and plan on reading it once a year for the rest of my life. Pretty much anything by Jane is a must read; if you love one book you’ll love them all.

Slaughterhouse Five:
Surprisingly good. This isn’t my usually taste but it was a great read, and definitely different.

Steinbeck:
I’m not naming a specific book because I have an ongoing love affair with him. He’s written several books I love, and I guess at a push I would have to say his short story The Red Pony is my favourite, however he’s written so many others that are damn well worth reading: The Grapes of Wrath, East of Eden, Of Mice and Men, and especially Cannery Row. There’s just something about him…

Dostoevsky:
Even though I find his work a bit of a drag sometimes, he’s bloody brilliant. I’d say Brothers Karamazov is the best place to start, you’ll see what I mean.

Virginia Woolf:
Again, I can’t limit this to just one book, but at a push I’ll ay A Room of One’s Own; she’s an amazing writer, captivating and so clever. The Common Reader is usually looked over, but both volumes are fantastic :)

I’ll stop there, lol. Happy hunting :)
